Mike Norvell Praises FSU’s Transfer Portal Success
Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has expressed confidence in the Seminoles’ roster overhaul, declaring the team has hit a “home run” with their recent haul from the NCAA Transfer Portal. After a challenging 2-10 season, the Seminoles are banking on a fresh wave of talent to rejuvenate their program and return to contention in the competitive ACC.
Norvell, who has been working to rebuild FSU since his arrival, highlighted the depth and versatility of the incoming transfers during a recent press conference. “We addressed key areas of need with players who not only have great talent but also fit the culture we’re building here,” he said. “I’m incredibly proud of the work our staff has done to bring these athletes to Tallahassee.”
The new additions include standout quarterback Thomas Castellanos, a senior transfer expected to compete for the starting role, and several other highly rated players across various positions. This influx of talent has been described as one of the best transfer classes in recent program history, addressing weaknesses in both the offensive and defensive units.
In addition to Castellanos, the Seminoles welcomed several key playmakers, including versatile wide receivers and hard-hitting defensive backs. Norvell emphasized that these athletes bring more than just skill to the team. “They are leaders, competitors, and individuals who are hungry to prove themselves,” he noted.
As FSU gears up for the 2025 season, the focus will now shift to integrating these new players into the system and building chemistry. The team’s performance in spring practices and the regular season will determine how well this transfer class meets expectations. For now, Seminoles fans have reason to be optimistic about what lies ahead under Norvell’s
guidance.
