GREAT COMMITMENT: QB DJ Uiagalelei Decommits Florida state Seminoles and Flip commitment to Miami Hurricanes Over Alabama, Buckeyes, LSU, Tennessee Vols..

Five-star quarterback DJ Uiagalelei has announced his decommitment from Florida State and flipped his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes. The highly sought-after recruit chose Miami over powerhouse programs Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, and Tennessee, shaking up the college football recruiting landscape.

Uiagalelei, considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation, initially committed to Florida State earlier this year. However, after months of deliberation and recent visits, he decided to take his talents to Coral Gables. “This was not an easy decision, but after spending time with Coach [Mario] Cristobal and his staff, I felt Miami was the best place for me to grow as a player and as a person,” Uiagalelei said in his announcement.

The Hurricanes, who have been aggressively rebuilding their program under Cristobal, land a game-changing recruit in Uiagalelei. Known for his rocket arm, dual-threat capabilities, and high football IQ, he is expected to make an immediate impact in Miami’s offense.

Cristobal expressed his excitement about the commitment, saying, “DJ is a special player who embodies everything we’re building here at Miami. His decision to join our program is a testament to the vision we have for the future of Hurricanes football.”

The news is a blow to Florida State, who viewed Uiagalelei as a centerpiece of their recruiting class. It also sends shockwaves to other programs, including Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, and Tennessee, all of whom were vying for his signature.

Miami fans, however, are ecstatic, celebrating the addition of a quarterback who could redefine the program’s trajectory. With Uiagalelei on board, the Hurricanes are solidifying themselves as serious contenders in the ACC and beyond. The future looks bright in Miami.
