The Dallas Mavericks rid their roster of franchise cornerstone Luka Doncic in a shocking blockbuster trade with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Doncic is widely regarded as one of the league’s best players at just 25 years old, which is why the NBA landscape was left in utter shock at the news of the deal. Few could even collect their thoughts enough to put real words to the move, including Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki.
Nowitzki took to social media to react to the bombshell trade, simply posting a shocked face emoji on X. The post reeled in nearly 10 million views, more than 200,000 likes, and had over 2,000 responses. The comments were much filled with praise for the NBA legend who spent his entire career in Dallas, but it may not be Doncic’s choice that he’s now suiting up in the purple and gold.
