In a surprising turn of events, Arkansas Razorbacks’ defensive standout Landon Jackson has announced his decision to declare for the 2025 NFL Draft. Jackson made the announcement on December 5, 2024, via his social media channels, expressing gratitude to his family, coaches, teammates, and Razorback fans for their unwavering support throughout his collegiate career.
Jackson’s decision comes on the heels of a significant injury he sustained during a game against Missouri on November 30, 2024. In the second quarter, Jackson suffered an apparent head and neck injury while tackling Missouri running back Jamal Roberts. The impact caused his head to whip backward, leading to his collapse on the field.
He remained on the ground for several minutes before being carted off and transported to a nearby hospital. Fortunately, after evaluation, Jackson was released and returned to the locker room, with head coach Sam Pittman confirming that he was “doing well.”
Prior to his injury, Jackson had an impressive season, earning First-Team All-SEC honors from the league’s coaches and Second-Team recognition from the Associated Press. He led Arkansas in tackles for loss (13.5) and sacks (6.5), achieving a career-best 44 total tackles. His standout performance included a career-high 11 tackles and 3.5 sacks against Alabama on October 14, 2024, which earned him SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Bednarik Award Player of the Week
