Florida State University (FSU) quarterback Brock Glenn has announced his departure from the Seminoles football program, stating he is “no longer comfortable” at FSU. This decision follows a tumultuous season marked by inconsistent performances and changes in the quarterback lineup.
Glenn, who initially flipped his commitment from Ohio State to FSU in 2022, began the 2024 season as the starting quarterback after an injury sidelined then-starter DJ Uiagalelei. In his debut against Clemson, Glenn completed 23 of 41 passes for 228 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Despite the loss, his performance was considered respectable against a formidable defense.
However, subsequent games revealed challenges. In a matchup against Duke, Glenn completed 9 of 19 passes for 110 yards and threw two interceptions, including a pick-six. His struggles continued against Miami, where he completed only 5 of 18 passes for 54 yards before being benched in favor of freshman Luke Kromenhoek.
The team’s overall performance also suffered, with the Seminoles experiencing their worst start since 1974 and being eliminated from bowl contention after a defeat to the Miami Hurricanes.
Amid these challenges, Glenn’s discomfort within the program grew, leading to his decision to leave. His departure adds to the list of key players exiting the team, signaling potential internal issues within the Seminoles’ football program.
Head coach Mike Norvell now faces the task of restructuring the team’s offense and addressing the quarterback position. With Glenn’s exit, the focus shifts to Kromenhoek and incoming recruits to fill the void. Norvell’s ability to adapt and make necessary changes will be crucial for the Seminoles as they aim to rebound in the upcoming season.
