As Nebraska football gears up for the 2025 season, the coaching staff is placing a strong emphasis on evaluating and developing its young offensive linemen during spring practices. Head coach Matt Rhule and his staff are using this time to assess the talent and growth of their underclassmen, aiming to build a more reliable and dominant front line.
With key departures from last season, the Huskers have several positions on the offensive line up for grabs. Returning players, along with incoming talent, are being given the opportunity to prove themselves. Offensive line coach Donovan Raiola has stressed the importance of improving technique, footwork, and overall physicality as the Huskers look to establish a more consistent and disciplined unit.
One of the biggest areas of focus has been pass protection, a lingering issue from last season that Nebraska hopes to rectify. Quarterback play has also been a priority, and a stronger offensive line will be key in giving the Huskers’ signal-callers more time to operate in the pocket.
Young players such as redshirt freshman Gibson Pyle and sophomore Gunnar Gottula have been making strides early in spring camp, impressing coaches with their work ethic and ability to adapt to Nebraska’s offensive schemes. The coaching staff has also been experimenting with different combinations to find the most effective lineup ahead of summer workouts.
With the season still months away, Nebraska’s focus remains on fundamentals and player development.
