WELCOME BACK: Ex Indiana Hoosiers star player Eric Gordon has been Appointed the Head coach of Indiana Hoosiers Due to several Mess by Mike Woodson….

In a shocking yet nostalgic move, former Indiana Hoosiers basketball star Eric Gordon has been named the new head coach of the program, replacing Mike Woodson after a series of disappointing seasons. The decision marks a new chapter for Indiana basketball, as the program turns to one of its most famous alumni to restore its winning culture.

Gordon, 35, played one season at Indiana in 2007-08, where he averaged 20.9 points per game and was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He was a key figure in Indiana’s resurgence before declaring for the NBA Draft, where he was selected 7th overall by the Los Angeles Clippers. After a long and successful NBA career, including an NBA Sixth Man of the Year award in 2017, Gordon now steps into coaching for the first time.

“This program means everything to me, and I’m honored to come back and lead the Hoosiers,” Gordon said in his introductory press conference. “I know what it takes to win here, and I’m ready to bring that energy back to Indiana basketball.”

The move comes amid turmoil, as Mike Woodson faced increasing criticism over the team’s underperformance, recruiting struggles, and failure to return Indiana to national prominence. The program’s inability to make deep NCAA Tournament runs ultimately led to his dismissal.

Indiana Athletic Director Scott Dolson praised Gordon’s leadership and connection to the modern game. “Eric brings a fresh perspective, NBA experience, and an understanding of what it means to play for Indiana. He’s the right man to rebuild this program,” Dolson said.

Gordon’s first priorities will be assembling a coaching staff and stabilizing the roster, as multiple players have entered the transfer portal. Fans are eager to see if the former Hoosiers legend can turn Indiana back into a powerhouse.
