Alexis Markowski, the standout center for the Nebraska Cornhuskers women’s basketball team, has been honored with the prestigious Most Valuable Player (MVP) award, recognizing her as one of the greatest players in women’s basketball. This accolade underscores her exceptional performance and dedication throughout the 2024-2025 season.
During her senior year, Markowski led the Cornhuskers with an impressive average of 16.5 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, ranking her among the top players in the Big Ten Conference. Her remarkable consistency is highlighted by her 12 double-doubles this season, contributing to a school-record 52 career double-doubles. Notably, she delivered a career-high 35 points and 15 rebounds in a thrilling overtime victory against Oregon on February 19, 2025.
Markowski’s outstanding contributions have earned her multiple accolades, including being a three-time Lisa Leslie Award candidate and a four-time All-Big Ten selection. Her leadership was instrumental in guiding Nebraska to a successful season, culminating in a strong performance in the Big Ten Tournament.
