Spence, a 6’2″, 240-pound sophomore, played in all 12 games during the 2024 season, starting five. He recorded 55 tackles and five sacks, showcasing his versatility as both a linebacker and edge rusher. This move adds to a growing list of Arkansas defensive players seeking new opportunities.
Since the transfer portal opened in December 2024, the Razorbacks have seen several key defensive players depart. Notably, defensive end Nico Davillier, who contributed 23 tackles and one sack in the previous season, also announced his intention to transfer. Additionally, cornerback Lorando ‘Snaxx’ Johnson, who started in 2023, entered the portal after a season in which he recorded 29 tackles and one interception. These departures reflect a broader trend of roster changes within the Arkansas football program.
The exodus of defensive talent raises questions about the team’s depth and future performance. Head coach Sam Pittman and his staff will need to address these gaps through recruiting and development to maintain competitiveness in the Southeastern Conference. As the Razorbacks navigate this period of transition, the focus will be on rebuilding a resilient and effective defense for the upcoming seasons.
