In a major recruiting shake-up, one of the top wide receiver targets in the Southeastern Conference has flipped his commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks, turning down offers from powerhouse programs including Florida State and the Georgia Bulldogs.
Four-star wideout Jalen Carter, a dynamic playmaker from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, had originally committed to Georgia in late March. However, after a recent official visit to Fayetteville and ongoing talks with Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman and offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino, Carter announced his change of heart via social media on Monday morning.
“I’ve prayed on it, talked with my family, and I’m proud to say I’m 100% committed to the University of Arkansas,” Carter wrote. “It just feels like home.”
Carter, ranked among the top 15 wide receivers nationally in the 2025 class, brings elite speed, route-running polish, and big-play ability. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, he recorded over 1,200 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior, drawing attention from nearly every major program in the country.
Sources close to the situation indicate that Arkansas’ offensive scheme, early playing time, and strong NIL infrastructure played key roles in swaying Carter’s decision. His commitment is a massive win for the Razorbacks, who have made recruiting top offensive talent a priority in the 2025 cycle.
For Georgia and Florida State, the flip marks a significant loss, as both had prioritized Carter as a centerpiece of their receiving corps for the future. While they will continue to pursue other elite targets, losing a player of Carter’s caliber stings.
With National Signing Day still months away, nothing is final—but for now, the Razorbacks have landed one of the most electrifying receivers in the country, signaling their intent to compete at the highest level.
