Mike Norvell Announces Retirement Due to Medical Reasons

The 43-year-old Norvell, who has been the face of FSU football since 2020, made the emotional statement during a press conference earlier today, surrounded by his coaching staff and family.
“I’ve always been someone who gives everything to this program, but I’ve come to a point where my health requires me to step away,” Norvell said, visibly emotional. “It’s not an easy decision, but it’s one that I know is right for me and my family at this moment in time.”
Norvell, who led the Seminoles to a bowl game in each of his first three seasons, has been praised for his resilience and leadership.
