Florida State continues to make waves on the recruiting trail, securing a major win with the commitment of four-star wide receiver Teriq Mallory. The talented 2025 prospect had previously been committed to West Virginia but announced his decision to flip to the Seminoles late Friday evening.
Mallory, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound playmaker from Charlotte, North Carolina, is ranked among the top wide receivers in his class. Known for his speed, precise route running, and ability to make contested catches, Mallory has been a standout performer on the high school circuit and a priority for several top programs.
Speaking about his decision, Mallory highlighted Florida State’s resurgence as a national power and the vision presented by head coach Mike Norvell. “Florida State’s program is on the rise, and I want to be a part of something special,” Mallory said. “The coaching staff made me feel like family, and I know this is the best place for me to grow on and off the field.”
For Florida State, Mallory’s commitment is a significant boost to its already strong 2025 recruiting class. The Seminoles have been focused on adding dynamic weapons to their offense, and Mallory’s skill set perfectly complements their system. His versatility makes him a threat both as a deep-ball receiver and in short-yardage situations.
The flip is a tough loss for West Virginia, as Mallory was one of their marquee commits in the 2025 class. It underscores the growing competition for elite talent as programs like Florida State continue to reassert themselves on the national stage.
With Mallory now in the fold, Florida State fans have even more to look forward to as the Seminoles aim to sustain their success and compete for championships in the years to come.
