Florida State has secured a major commitment for its 2025 recruiting class with Antonio Cromartie Jr., son of former Seminoles and NFL defensive back Antonio Cromartie Sr., officially pledging to join the program. The talented cornerback from Carrollton High School in Georgia had initially committed elsewhere but recently flipped his decision to Florida State, citing the program’s fit and his personal development goals.
“I’ve always admired the legacy of Florida State, and it feels like the right place for me to grow as both a player and a person,” Cromartie Jr. said during his announcement. “It’s an honor to follow in my father’s footsteps and contribute to a program with such a rich history.”
The 5’11”, 170-pound cornerback has impressed scouts with his quickness, agility, and football IQ. Known for his ability to read plays and his lockdown coverage skills, Cromartie Jr. was a key target for several top programs. His senior season was particularly outstanding, solidifying his reputation as one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 class.
Cromartie Jr.’s decision is a significant win for head coach Mike Norvell and the Seminoles’ coaching staff, who are looking to rebuild the program with elite talent. His commitment strengthens Florida State’s secondary and adds a legacy player to the roster, further bolstering the team’s recruiting momentum.
Turning down offers from rival programs, Cromartie Jr. emphasized that his choice was driven by a desire to grow both on and off the field. With his athletic pedigree and strong work ethic, he is expected to make an immediate impact when he arrives in Tallahassee.
Seminoles fans are thrilled to welcome the next generation of the Cromartie family, hopeful that Antonio Jr. can bring the same level of success that his father achieved at Florida State.
