In a stunning recruiting twist, four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman has flipped his commitment to Indiana, choosing the Hoosiers over powerhouse programs like Alabama, Ohio State, and LSU. Wyman, ranked as one of the top defensive backs in the 2025 class, was previously committed to Arkansas but announced his decision to switch to Indiana on Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound standout from Atlanta, Georgia, is regarded as a lockdown corner with elite ball skills and physicality. His ability to cover top receivers and make plays in the secondary made him one of the most coveted defensive recruits in the country.
Indiana head coach Curt Cignetti and his staff pulled off one of the program’s biggest recruiting victories in recent memory. Wyman’s commitment signals a major step forward for the Hoosiers, who are looking to compete with the Big Ten’s top teams on the recruiting trail and on the field.
“Indiana just felt like the right place for me,” Wyman said in his announcement. “The coaches have a vision for me, and I believe I can make a real impact here. I want to be part of something special.”
Flipping a player of Wyman’s caliber from SEC and Big Ten giants highlights Indiana’s growing presence in recruiting. His addition strengthens the Hoosiers’ secondary and gives the team a true difference-maker on defense.
Wyman is expected to be an immediate contributor when he arrives in Bloomington in 2025. His commitment also gives Indiana a significant boost as they continue to build a competitive roster under Cignetti’sleadership.
