Seven members of the Nebraska men’s basketball program have been recognized on the Winter

Seven members of the Nebraska Cornhuskers men’s basketball team have been recognized on the Winter Academic All-Big Ten Team, highlighting their dedication to both athletics and academics. This achievement underscores the program’s commitment to excellence beyond the basketball court.

To earn Academic All-Big Ten honors, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher while competing for their respective teams. For Nebraska, this recognition is a testament to the balance these players have maintained throughout the rigorous demands of a highly competitive Big Ten season.

Among the honorees, four players are repeat selections, showing their continued commitment to academic success throughout their careers. These student-athletes have not only contributed on the court but have also excelled in the classroom, setting a standard for future Huskers.

Head coach Fred Hoiberg praised the players for their efforts, stating, “These young men have worked incredibly hard, not just in their training and competition but also in their studies. Their commitment to academic success is something we take great pride in as a program.”

Nebraska’s focus on academic achievement continues to be a point of pride for the athletic department. The Huskers’ basketball program has consistently placed players on the Academic All-Big Ten list, reinforcing the culture of excellence that extends beyond basketball.

As the team prepares for the College Basketball Crown Tournament, this recognition serves as a reminder of the well-rounded success Nebraska strives for. Balancing academics and athletics at a high level is no easy feat, and these seven Huskers have proven they can excel in both arenas.
